ITS KIND OF LONG BUT EH WHO SAID PROGRESS WAS GONE BE SHORT, I BROKE IT DOWN A LIL BIT DOE SO HOPEFULLY YOU READ AND THINK ABOUT WHAT I WROTE AND PUT YOU INPUT
Dear Mayor Daley and the city council of Chicago,
I would just like to say that you all are the worst public officials that the city of Chicago has ever had in our great cities existence. City hall is destroying this great city that I love dearly. You don't care about the citizens of Chicago and it is shown every time that Chicagoans have to pay for a dumb mistake that was made by City Hall. This letter is intended to address the problems in Chicago and offer suggestions so that we can make Chicago a better place to live in and a place that people would want to move their business, families and vacation at.
I'm sick and tired of you politicians here in this City making faulty claims to the citizens during election and saleing us a dream. I'm tired of seeing these press conferences with the Mayor or an alderman lying through there teeth anytime a real question is being asked when it’s come to Chicago. As politicians, you are suppose to represent the people that voted for you. This is suppose to be Politics, but everybody in City Hall is PoliTRICKS! The mayor and each and every last alderman is Cancer for the City of Chicago and its citizens. The City Council are some wimps, you spineless jerks don't even stand up against Daley. Don't worry though; a new generation is around corner and its time that you OLD heads retire.
Crime & Violence in Chicago
Violence is all over the world, but right now in the City of Chicago is safe. We as citizens is living in a war zone, but yet City Hall has yet to come up with a solution to deal with this problem, but yet you all can surely give Mayor Daley a raise and yes I will be touching on him later in this letter. The police are not doing their, citizens are seemed to be trapped in their own homes and the children can't even travel to school without having to fear for their life.
Its seems that each and every time that a crime happens in the city, the first thing that comes out of city halls mouth is that its "Gang Related" when that is far from the truth. It is 2009 and gang banging is some what dead. Yes, people are still in gangs but they are more of an independent mind then what is use to be. Instead of condemning the gangs of Chicago, how about the city start to work with some of the "Original Gangsters" such as Walter Bradley, Jerome Freeman, Bobby Gore or even the infamous Larry Hoover (who Mayor Daley helped put away). These people still have clout within these gangs and can help with the deterrence of Crime. For those that say they under whatever gang and anyone of these people say something, they will do it. Since the 1990's, Walter Bradley has been trying to help the city out but you all shunned him out as an outcast.
It’s a shame of how many times Youth Violence is spoke of in the news today. From them being killed on they way home from school to massive mob like attacks happening at these high schools. Again, the city has yet to come with a solution to this problem. Of course, the its not Chicago’s job to tell this kids how they should act in or out of school because that is the parents responsibility, but you can fix the situation.
A way that City Hall can fix this situation is by stop allowing CPS students attending schools outside of their area. There's is no way that a student who stay on 79th Street should be going to school on 35th Street. There are many reasons why students need to go to school within their area. 1. It cuts down the commute for the student to and from school. 2. No longer will they have to be up at a early time say 5:30 in the morning just to make to school by 8. 3. Its stops students from traveling to unfamiliar neighborhoods and dealing with unfamiliar people. 4. By going to the school in the neighborhood, it will incline them to go to school more because they are in there neighborhood and people can keep an eye on them.
Another tool that the city can do to combat Youth Violence is by Enforcing a Curfew, more truancy officers and increase police presence in schools. When teenagers first get their license a curfew is set in place telling them at what time they have to stop driving, so why can't the city put in a Curfew for students. I believe that students should be in the house no later that 8pm. I say 8 pm because some are coming from practice, games and things of that nature. By placing in this curfew, it means that students are in the house where they should be because it is some parents who don't care what time they child gets in the house. Also, where are the truancy officers of the city. I drive though the city during the middle of the day and see a lot of youths not in school. Truancy officer need to get on their job and force these students to be in school. It seems to me that the city want more and more students to drop out so that money can be in the pockets of politicians.
Another issue plaguing the city of Chicago is the low number of Police Officers through out the city. Crime has seen to go up through out the city while the number of officers has not seemed to increase with it. What seems to be the problem with getting officers in the Chicago Police Department? Is Chicago trying to handle the Crime Problem that is going on or is it trying to let crime take over? Why does CPD collaborate with the City Colleges & University and offer incentives to people pursuing Criminal Justice Degrees so that we can get more officers. Also, the Mayor needs to stop bringing in outside people to Chicago to run the department because instead of bring Jody Wise in as police chief, somebody should have been promoted with the ranks because they know Chicago. Just because Jody Wise worked for the FBI, doesn't mean he knows Chicago because as you see now HE ISN'T DOING A GOOD JOB.
Lastly on the issue of Violence in the City of Chicago is the violence on Public Transportation such as the CTA and Metra. During the summer when people were getting robbed on the Metra Electric, why wasn’t Chicago Police collaborating with the Metra Police to bring more of a police presence to the Metra Electric stops? Anybody that rides the Metra Electric can tell you that, they are taking a risk by going up and coming down those steps under the viaduct. I have gotten on the Metra Electric before in the early mornings when its still dark outside and I asked “myself where is the police personal at because this station is not well lit and I can get robbed at any moment?”
Now this brings me to the CTA. The CTA needs to stop have SECURITY GUARDS, such as Securitas and Star Detective agency and get Chicago Police on those platforms. Security guards are not equipped to handle any type of situation such as detaining individuals, stop altercations between passengers and handling other emergency situations. They are just there to observe and report, and if anything happens they are suppose to call CPD. CTA needs personal that can help them in a more of a proactive approach and the SECURITY GUARDS are not that because they at not equipped to handle it. They do not have any handcuffs, mace, batons and etc like CPD and those are need on CTA platforms.
Beautification and the Expansion of Chicago
So we lost the 2016 Summer Olympics, does that mean that we can’t build some of the venues that the city would have built and use that money for in different ways that can help the city in areas such as Public Transportation, vacant lots and etc. In a way, it was sort of a blessing that we didn’t get the Olympics because we as Chicagoans have internal issues to handle.
I say that Chicago should still build some of the venues that were talked about such as a the New Stadium in Washington Park, the Jackson Park Hockey Fields, and the Lincoln Park Tennis Center. By building a new stadium we can bring another NFL team to Chicago. Don’t get me wrong, but I am a died hard Bears fan, but why cant Chicago enjoy home games for 16 weeks just like New York does. It was a time that Chicago had 2 teams and I believe that, we need 2 now. This would create long term jobs for the people in this city and jobs are needed right now as we all know. The city would be putting construction workers back to work, after the stadium is complete it would need personal to run it and the citizens would come. Its all one big circle that needs to be started so that the city can get revenue, people of Chicago can be put to work and have another team in the city.
Also, some of the surrounding suburbs needs to get annexed into Chicago. Our borders need to expand out through out the North, West and South. The reason that I say Chicago needs to expand is because we need the money from taxes that those people can bring. Also it would bring more police officer and other municipality features from the suburbs to the city, By Chicago expanding North, we would annex Evanston, Skokie, Niles, Lincolnwood, and Morton Grove. The city should expand West, all the way out to Bellwood down to Lyons. Lastly, expand South all the way to Blue Island, Riverdale, Calumet City Region. My question to you would be, why not do it and why haven’t this been done.
Also with the money from the Olympics, lets help out the city get rolling on expanding, adding new trains line and adding new stations. This would again, put Chicagoans to work, help the CTA get revenue and cut down emissions into the atmosphere. Not only would this be help to city of Chicago in the long run but, it would also help the environment.
Lets help the CTA get the ball rolling on some of its plans to expand public transportation. They want to expand the Red Line(130th), the Yellow Line(Niles) and Orange Line(Ford City Mall), so lets help them out with this. Each line helps out a region of the city with better transportation. With the Red Line and Orange Line, citizens who stay deep in the South Side and the South Westside of Chicago would now be able to reach the places they need to go within a much quicker time because they only public transportation they have is a bus. The Yellow Line, helps out citizens on the North side because, it would connect them to a Northwestern suburb of Niles and the Yellow line would serve more of a purpose.
Also, the money could help CTA put more stops into some of the already existing lines and start constructing a new one. It could put a stop on 63rd and Wentworth on the Green so riders can transfer over instead of going all the way downtown to do it. Add a stop on the Pink Line at Madison, so when the Bulls are playing, all a person has to do it get off on Madison and walk over. The gold line was a good idea for the Olympics, so why not bring it for the people who stay on the Southeastern side of Chicago. They need to get downtown in a quick fashion too just like everybody else.
These Vacant lots of Chicago need to go. They make out city looks so ugly and the city council has yet to do anything about them. You all haven’t gotten on these owners about these vacant lots to do something about them. The city needs to tell these owners that they either build on top of them or receive a fine each and every month that a lot is vacant. But the city has the biggest vacant lot of them all and that is where the Housing projects used to be. Its time that they city get some residential and commercial property on those lots.
Dumb Decisions
Is it just me or does city hall seem to make DUMB Decisions about a lot of things in Chicago. From the closing of Meigs Fields, to the unplanned relocation of people from the closed Housing Projects. Sometimes, I wonder, if the Mayor and the city council have any brains because I know for a fact, that they city council doesn’t have any back bone.
The City Council, allowed Mayor Daley to ILLEGAL close Meigs Field and get a fine from the FAA that the citizens of Chicago had to pay for. Not only when Meigs Fields but now people who fly in Private jets and such have to deal with O’Hare airport and Midway airport. Most people who use to fly into Meigs Field were people who were either famous or people who could afford to ride in G-4 jets and things of that nature. So why did Meigs Field close? Chicago needs 3 airports.
Another dumb decision that has happened, is the leasing of both the Chicago Skyway and the Leasing of the parking meters. The city is now missing out on the revenue from both the Skyway and Parking meters because City Hall felt that it would benefit Chicago. It is hurting Chicagoan right now in the long run because we are coming up short on money now. If you wanted more only, you should have just raised the rates like these private companies did and keep it under city control.
Schools with in a school, I would just like to say that this decision was the dumbest of them all. Instead of putting like 5 different schools in one building, why couldn’t the same programs be offered to the students under 1 name, 1 school instead of their being different principles and names. That’s just dumb, but I guess since I said I wonder if the city council even has a brain, dumb things like this happen.
It seems that City Hall doesn’t care for the Chicago Landmarks. When Soldier Field was rebuilt, you all let the National Landmark Status be stripped because of the way that it was rebuilt. City Hall just let Macy’s come and take over Marshall Fields with out thinks how that would effect the people of Chicago because it has effected us. Then when the White Sox moved into the new Comiskey Park, you let the old home just be torn down, when that had historical value to the People of the South Side of Chicago. What’s next, are you gone allow Wrigley to be torn down? City Hall is just allowing Chicago turn into something its not. Maybe what they say is true about City Hall trying to be like New York City.
Lastly on the dumb decision that City Hall has made is when they closed and tore down the housing projects of the city of Chicago, they didn’t think strategically one where to place these people. You guys just closed the projects and just let them people mover anywhere, not thinking of what would happen through out the city. And since the projects has been tore down, Crime has risen because of people from the projects trying to mix in with different neighborhoods.
Mayor Richard M. Daley
Daley, Daley, Daley. I would just like to say that you are the worst Mayor that this city has ever had. I don’t care if you are the second longest running Mayor in this city after your father, but you are the worst. Don’t think just because you have been in office for so long that makes you the best Mayor ever and the only reason you still in office is because nobody big has ran against you. If Jesse Jackson Jr or Rod Blagovich(before he was Governor) would have ran against you, then your ass would not be in office right now. Nobody wants you as Mayor, your own Bridgeport community hates you and I cant wait for the say that somebody boots your ass out of office.
The only thing that I can complement you on is that you had stayed out of jail all these years. With all of the corrupt scandals that has happened in your watch, I applaude you because the FBI has yet been able to connect you with these crimes, but don’t worry, that too shall pass and when the FBI does get you, I hope you get a longer sentence than Larry Hoover and Jeff Fort.
Also since you have been in office, the population for the city has decline. Of course before you got into office we went from number 2 to number 3 with the most population in the U.S but I will be damned if we become number 4. You need to get on your shit and increase the population of the city and act like a Mayor instead of the criminal that you are.
Basically what I am saying to you is this, that you are a failure. Instead of helping Chicago, you are hurting Chicago. People see behind you, they just are waiting for somebody to come around and when a good candidate comes, your ass will be out of office.
Conclusion
This letter was not to demean the City of Chicago or its elected officals at any means. But somebody had to step up to the plate and tell City hall about its self. Mayor Daley is a Criminal and I cant wait for the FBI to arrest his ass and nobody on the city council has a backbone to stand up against him. The citizens have proven that you can get voted out of you seat just like they did when Dorothy Tillman was voted out.
This was simply a letter to address problems in this city and to offer solutions. Since City Hall want come to the citizens and do their job, Im coming to you all. Its time that you all got on your job.
Like I said in the beginning of this letter, I'm sick and tired of you politicians here in this City making faulty claims to the citizens during election and saleing us a dream. I'm tired of seeing these press conferences with the Mayor or an alderman lying through there teeth anytime a real question is being asked when its come to Chicago. As politicians, you are suppose to represent the people that voted for you. This is suppose to be Politics, but everybody in City Hall is PoliTRICKS! Don't worry though; a new generation is around corner and its time that you OLD heads retire.

Brison Blackwell

I HAVEN'T BEEN ON BLOGSPOT FOR A LONG TIME BECAUSE I JUST BEEN SO BUSINESS, BUT I'M BACK AND I'M GOING IN.
I am a avid listener to your respective radio stations. I have been listening to you all since I could listen to radio. And I would just like to say I am disgusted about the lack of respect for Chicago Artist on Chicago radio stations.
I feel that Chicago Radio Stations have no love for its own artist such as Common, Twista, GLC, Lupe, R.Kelly(even after he was found not guilty) and others. If our own artist can't get radio play, then what does that say about your radio and the way you feel about the neighborhoods in the city. To me it says you don't care about Chicago and if that's the case, then I feel sorry for you. The only time is seems that a Chicago Artist can be played is when Kanye West drop some heat.
24/7, 365 it seems to me that all I hear these days from you all is artist such as Gucci Mane, Drake, Keri Hilson, Nicki Minaj and others. That's fine and that's cool, but can Chicago artist get some airplay in rotation. Why is it that I hear a lot of mixtape music from these artist but no music from our artist albums? What about Erika Shevon(Singer of Wetter), Really Doe, Mikkey Halsted, Common, Twista? Take Twista for example, he put out one of the best cds he has ever put in years and the only songs that I hear is "Wetter" and "Yellow Light" feat. R.Kellys. why haven't you play other songs off the album such as "Yo Body" or "American Gangster", but yet y'all will play almost a whole mixtape or album of another artist from a different region. You will even play weak artist such as Plies, Dorough, The New Boyz. But yet when you go to these regions mainly The South, they support their artist to the fullest, even if they weak as hell, they support them regardless and you see where Southern Rap is at right now.
Why is Common, basically the Godfather of Chicago rap being banned it seems from Chicago radio? This man always come back Chicago to do good and come out with great music, but the Chicago radio stations has turned they back on him. The last song I heard from Common's last albums came of BE. Where are the songs from Finding Forever or Universal Mind Control? As a matter of fact where are some of his classic songs such as "I used to love her", "Resurrection" or "This reminds me"? Common delivers and if you was to play his music now, more mature people would remember back to when these songs came out and then be like "man jo play that again". He is working on a new album right now and it would be a shame if Chicago radio, doesn't play his songs because he deserves it.
If Chicago radio doesn't respect its veteran artist, then what is going to say about artist trying to make it in the industry who either have deal or trying to get deals. Take GLC for example, he is signed to G.O.O.D music, has shot videos for youtube & even for tv, but why hasn't he gotten any radio play? GLC speaks for the south side of Chicago but cant get a song on the radio. Then we have Twista's artist Skooda Chose of Get Money Gang Entertainment. He shot a video for his single "Lounging" feat. The Cool Kids and Twista and it has yet to get radio play. This is a shame when up and coming artist can't even get they songs played from the city they was born and raised in. You can't deny that both of these artist got talent, they not just of bunch of coo bird rappers who ain't got nothing to talk about because they do. So what is the problem with helping out the artist who is trying to make and tell our side of the story?
There are other artist too out here that have their region on lock. Artist such as Sly Polariod, his song Rubberband Knots is slamming right now in the streets but yet no radio play. Erika Shevon, the singer of wetter has a song, but the only time she is heard is when Wetter is played. How about Naledge from Kidz In The Hall or hell Kidz In the Hall period? Hell, Really Doe released an album and i didn't hear one time, a DJ promote or play songs off his album. These people, I have named our all talented especially more talented then some of the things you all play on your radio stations. You cant say, well we cant get the music because we dont know about these artist because that would be some straight send off. You all can always reach out to Fake Shore Drive, Sean Mac, some of these College Radio station or just go to any corner in the Chi and see somebody selling they music.
All I am saying is that there is a need for change in Chicago radio. Its fine to play music from other regions because we like music from everywhere, but don't blast they music 24/7 when you can't even respect Chicago Artist enough to play their music. Right now Chicago Radio Stations is some suckers and that's real. You will play the hell out of somebody elses mixtapes before you play anybody from Chicago albums. And that is wrong. I am calling for a change in the way Chicago radio is done out here and I am calling for it now. It's a way for musicians to deliver a message and can show the youth that they can make it.
